Updating Resource Manager to release 6.4.1

This section includes instructions for updating the following versions of Resource Manager to 6.4.1:

6.4.0, 6.3.2, 6.2.1, 6.2.0, 6.1.x, 6.0.x, 5.3.3

Updating single-host, appliance-based deployments

Use the instructions in this section to update single-host deployments of Resource Manager based on virtual appliances. You can update Control Center and Resource Manager independently. The software includes updates of the virtual machine operating system.

Preparing to update

  1. Prepare your deployment for update
  2. Download the update ISO file
  3. Attach the update ISO
  4. Modify MariaDB passwords, if necessary
  5. Update the Dashboard ZenPack
  6. Stop Resource Manager
  7. Remove Docker containers on the master host

Updating the master host

  1. Update Control Center
  2. Update Resource Manager

Post-update procedures

  1. Remove the pre-upgrade snapshot
  2. Verify zenhubworker services updated successfully
  3. Start Resource Manager
  4. Optional: Install a patch for Linux modeling
  5. Clear heartbeat events

Updating multi-host, appliance-based deployments

Use the instructions in this section to update multi-host deployments of Resource Manager based on virtual appliances. You can update Control Center and Resource Manager independently. The software includes updates of the virtual machine operating system.

Updating non-appliance deployments

Use the instructions in this section to update Resource Manager deployments that are not based on the Resource Manager virtual appliance. These instructions do not include updates for Control Center or the host operating system.

When a Control Center update accompanies a Resource Manager release, Control Center must be updated first. See Updating Control Center to release 1.8.0.

  3. Download Resource Manager image files
  4. Import Resource Manager image files
  5. Modify MariaDB passwords, if necessary
  6. Update the Dashboard ZenPack

Updating software

  1. Stop Resource Manager
